Group Workshop

Service Description

A Longsword Workshop designed for working with multiple people, be it part of an open HEMA event, or a special closed session within a club or study group. The topics that I can teach for each workshop are fixed. The organizer of the event (or the club or study group representative) can choose from the list available on this site. The list includes the topic of the workshop, a description of what it will consist of, the gear requirements and the recommended level of Longsword experience of participants. Regardless of the chosen workshop, I will provide both the information (theory) and the practice (drills), so that all of the participants that complete the workshop will go home with more knowledge and skill regarding the chosen topic. The information is arranged in such a manner and the drills are designed in such a way as to facilitate working in groups and pairs within a group, so that each participant gets the maximum out of this setting. Each workshop is designed to include a small Q&A session (10-15 minutes) at the end. But this might be skipped if there are unforeseeable delays during the workshop. It is understood by the organizer and participants that in this Workshop format I, as the Instructor, am not responsible to exhaustively teach all of the prerequisites that the participants need to have in their skill and knowledge set, to meet the level required by the workshop. I am only hired to do my best in transferring the theoretical knowledge and improving the skills that pertain to the topic that was chosen, and it is assumed that all participants have the experience to meet the level required by the workshop. The organizer and/or the participants are entirely responsible for providing the gear that we will use during the workshop (unless otherwise agreed in writing between the organizer and me). And they are also responsible for wearing all of the protective gear and using the weapon simulators as instructed by me during the workshop. If at any point during the workshop I feel like the safety conditions are not being respected by either the organizer, the participants or any other hangers-on, I am entitled to end to workshop immediately, without any refund to the organizer and/or participants.
